Top 10 Questions for Shock It Clean
Why am I not getting the product to foam?
The amount of foam has a lot to do with the type of water. However, regardless of the water type used, agitating the water with a mop or through a sponge will produce foam. Keep in mind that hard water contains minerals that reduces the amount of foam produced.
Is Shock It Clean It Clean safe for my hands?
Shock It Clean is safe on the skin. Do not bathe with Shock It Clean. Unless you have sensitive skin or open wounds, gloves are not needed. Wash your hands thoroughly with clean water after using Shock It Clean to prevent the possibility of eye irritation from rubbing your eyes or drying of skin. If dryness occurs, use a moisturizer, lotion, or hand cream to restore the moisture.
Is Shock It Clean safe for my pets?
Dogs and cats – Do not bathe your pets with Shock It Clean. Carpets, upholstery, flooring, pet beds, crates, carrying cases, and litter boxes can be cleaned safely. Shock It Clean is made to leave no residue once the product is wiped up or vacuumed off. Do not allow your pet to consume the product. Rinse all hard surfaces with clean water prior to exposure to your pet. Do not spray around food or water.
Birds – Because of the wide variety of species and the varying sensitivities, we recommend caution when using Shock It Clean around birds. You may clean the cage without the bird in the cage. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with clean water before allowing the birds to be housed within. Always rinse perches and toys with clean water after using Shock It Clean. Do not spray around food or water.
Fish and Reptiles – We do not recommend the use of Shock It Clean for fish, reptiles, or other exotic animals.
How can I be sure Shock It Clean is safe for my fabrics?
Always test for colorfastness. This is easy to do and we recommend that you do this for every fabric-oriented item including carpeting, upholstery, clothing, etc.
Mix 2 ounces of Shock It Clean in a 32-ounce spray bottle and fill with clean water (use hot water only if you are going to steam clean). Apply by saturating an inconspicuous area of the item you will be cleaning. Rub the mixture into that area. Allow to dry. If the material did not bleed (the color did not run or change), and you are satisfied with the results, proceed with confidence that Shock It Clean is safe for you to use on that item.
How do I clean recent/old pet mistakes?
Whether you’re training a new addition, nurturing a senior pet, or just for those occasional mishaps, Shock It Clean is the answer. Be sure to check for colorfastness. Remove excess fluid from a liquid mistake using an absorbent cloth and remove excess solids such as feces or vomit. Mix 2 ounces of Shock It Clean in a 32-ounce spray bottle, and fill with clean water. For liquid stains, spray an area twice the size of the visibly affected area. Work Shock It Clean into and around the area with a colorfast sponge sprayed with the same mixture or a natural fibered brush. Using a damp cloth, wipe the area. Repeat the process until the area wipes clean. Allow to dry. Vacuum or brush as needed.
Can I use Shock It Clean in my carpet/upholstery machine?
Shock It Clean is safe to use with most residential and commercial rug and upholstery machines. In a separate bucket, mix 4 ounces of Shock It Clean to every half-gallon of water. Pour the solution in the proper compartment in your particular model. Clean as recommended by the manufacturer. Allow to dry. Vacuum or brush as needed.
Can Shock It Clean clean stainless steel?
Shock It Clean cleans stainless steel beautifully. It will remove burnt on messes, fingerprints, splatter and splashes, and dried-on messes too. Always rinse hard surfaces with clean water. A damp towel will do fine.
How can I use Shock It Clean in my laundry?
Mix 2 ounces of Shock It Clean in a 32 ounces spray bottle and fill with clean water. Spray on and rub into the stain. Allow five to ten minutes for pretreatment. Launder as usual. Add 2 ounces of Shock It Clean to any load as a laundry booster. Stains that have been set into the fabric by heat or other laundry treatments or methods may not come out.
What does “defat skin” mean?
Shock It Clean contains degreasers. These ingredients may cause skin that has been exposed to it for long periods of time to feel dry. We recommend that you wash your hands thoroughly after use and apply a moisturizer if dryness occurs.
Can Shock It Clean remove old stains?
For old, set in stains, pre-treat the area with 2 ounces of Shock It Clean in a 32 ounce spray bottle and fill with water. Saturate the area. Use an extraction type machine over the entire carpet. Vacuum when dry. Keep in mind that some stains can actually damage carpeting. This is especially true if the stain has changed the color of the fabric over time. Remember stains will change the color and once the color has changed and the dye has dissolved out of the fabric the fabric will not go back to its original color. These include bleach, permanent hair dye, old pet stains that have been bleached by sunlight, and wear areas.
